Portrait of Joseph Roulin

Arles, 1889

Van Gogh loved to work on portraits, but for many reasons it was difficult for him to find models. Joseph Roulin was a regular postman in the Southern French town of Arles (where van Gogh moved in 1888) and one of the artist’s closest friends, who agreed to model for his paintings. In this painting Roulin is depicted in his service uniform and set against the background of spinning flowers.

Color: yellow.

Material: digital cotton.

Digital clothes fit all sizes.
